What are the critics saying about Coup de Chance?

It’s been an interesting mix, folks. Reviews are broadly favourable, with many calling Coup de Chance Allen’s best film in a decade or more. However, dissenting voices have been merciless, calling the film clumsy and contrived.

Of course, Woody Allen films don’t exist in a moral or cultural vacuum, and any opinion on his work can’t help but be coloured by your take on his personal life and allegations of abuse against him (you can go Google that). On balance, if you like Allen you’ll like this, if you cannot stand the man, this won’t radically change your mind.
