Four new docos have been added to Stan’s insightful Revealed series

Launching earlier this year with a string of feature-length documentaries on Australian neo-nazi factions, a Frankston serial killer, and a call to action on the Great Barrier Reef, Stan’s Revealed series does just what its title promises.

And looking ahead to next year, we can expect a further four investigations to premiere on the homegrown streaming service. Here are the new titles on Stan’s original Revealed slate, gripping collaborations made with “award-winning journalists, filmmakers and philanthropists from Australia and around the world.”

The first will focus on former AFL player and coach Danielle Laidley, who’s battled a rough working-class upbringing in Perth and struggles with drugs and identity conflict, to emerge as an outspoken transwoman hoping for change. Together with her partner Donna, we’ll watch as Danielle forges a bold new life for herself, breaking down cultural and personal barriers.

The Cape is an intimate portrait of an isolated Cape York fishing community, with a true crime twist. Expect rustic coastal vistas, plenty of mangroves and crocs, and a stirring love triangle gone wrong that ends in the disappearance of a boy and his father. The below trailer for Amongst Us: Neo Nazi Australia, one of Revealed‘s most compelling features yet, proves that the team behind these docos are great at cutting to the heart of fringe organisations in the fabric of modern Australian life: whether they’re isolated fishing clans, or terrorists.

Safe to Drink will broaden its horizons to take on the issue of toxic chemicals in the waters of Australia and also the world. It’s made in collaboration with Walkley Award-winning journalist Carrie Fellner, a stomach-churning watch that could be hard to swallow.

Then things get a little lighter, with Miranda Otto’s feature-length portrait of her father Barry. Both are screen legends in Australia, and we’ll get to see their familial bond in the “fun, hilarious, and heartbreaking” Otto on Otto.

Whatever your taste for revelatory true stories, Revealed will teach you something new about this Australian life. Stay tuned for further info on when each of the new docos will arrive in 2023, exclusively for Stan subscribers.
