When is Halo season 2 coming out in Australia?

It’s been almost two years since the first season of Halo hit our screens, bringing the iconic video game franchise into our living rooms back in March 2022. The bad news is we have to wait a little bit longer for season two. But not that long…

When is Halo season 2 being released in Australia?

Halo season 2 is streaming in Australia exclusively on Paramount+ from April 19.

What is Halo season 2 about?

Exact details are sketchy right now. As the synopsis says: “Halo follows an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. Halo will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”

What we do know is that it’ll pick up on the continuing adventures of spacefaring super-soldier Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 as he wages war against threats both alien and domestic, and—judging by the trailer—we’ll actually be going to the titular Halo, a giant ring-shaped space station built by some unknowable ancient precursor race (if memory of those long-ago caffeine-fuelled X-Box marathons serves).

The cast of Halo season 2

Pablo Schreiber is our Master Chief; Jen Taylor is the AI Cortana; Natascha McElhone is Dr. Catherine Elizabeth Halsey, the scientist who created the Spartan-II super-soldier program; Bokeem Woodbine is a Spartan deserter and rebel leader Soren-066; Yerin Ha is scrappy colonist kid Kwan Ha; and Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Danny Sapani, and Fiona O’Shaughnessy are also on board. New this season are Joseph Morgan as  intelligence operative James Ackerson and Cristina Rodlo as space marine Talia Perez.

Why we’re excited about Halo season 2

While purists balked at the series’ departures from established canon, season 1 was an interesting adaptation that sometimes struggled to find its feet but promised great things in the future. It seems the future is now, and we’re here for it.
