A special ‘Meet the Filmmaker’ screening of Ladies In Black is coming to Cinema Nova

Ladies in Black, the new film from veteran director Bruce Beresford, is one of the most highly anticipated Australian releases of 2018.

Adapted from author Madeleine St John’s best-selling coming-of-age novel, the film – based in Sydney in 1959 – is a feel-good drama draped in high-fashion and glamour.

Beresford – a legendary Oscar-nominated filmmaker whose many films include Breaker Morant, Driving Miss Daisy, Mao’s Last Dancer, The Club and Don’s Party – directs an ensemble cast including Julia Ormond, Angourie Rice, Rachael Taylor, Alison McGirr, Vincent Perez, Ryan Corr, Susie Porter, Shane Jacobson and Noni Hazlehurst.

Melburnians can check out the film ahead of its September 20 release by attending a special ‘Meet the Filmmaker’ screening at Cinema Nova, which takes place on Thursday September 13 at 6:30pm.

Beresford himself will be in attendance for a Q&A moderated by Michael Heyward from Text Publishing.
