Kinetic and talent-stacked animation Invincible is now streaming on Prime Video

With its bright primary colours, kinetic animation style, and stacked voice cast of comedy talent, there’s no way Invincible earns its R-rating. Right?

You only need to get to the end of the pilot to realise why The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman is behind this dark spin on a superhero origin story. Invincible is currently available to watch on Prime Video, so don’t let the perky visual design fool you.

Starring Steven Yeun as the fledgling superhero son of Omni Man (J.K. Simmons), Invincible is based on a long-running graphic novel series that revises superhero mythology while still standing as a satisfying epic in its own right.

Check out the trailer below to witness some of the terrific animated battle sequences, and for that stellar voice cast that just don’t quit. The first season features Sandra Oh, Seth Rogen, Mahershala Ali, Jon Hamm, Walton Goggins and even genre great Mark Hamill among others.

If you’re not put off by the surprising amount of blood in that teaser, you’ll want to watch all eight episodes of Invincible ASAP.
