Pixie, the Irish crime-comedy starring Alec Baldwin as a killer priest, is now in cinemas

“These gons aren’t gonna shoot themselves”, Alec Baldwin purrs in a pretty decent Irish accent.

That’s the last tantalising snippet we get from the clip below, of the new crime-comedy Pixie, which is currently playing in Australian cinemas. It looks like a rollicking good time, in the vein of Hot Fuzz or In Bruges.

Olivia Cooke stars as the titular Pixie, a heartbroken young girl seeking vengeance for her late mum who instead falls in with two everyday lads (Ben Hardy and Daryl McCormack). After they accidentally kill one of her attackers, the gang flee, on the run across the wild Irish countryside.

One of their pursuers? Alec Baldwin, as a murderous priest with a delightful Irish brogue.

This movie seems like the best blend of UK shoot-em-up flicks made popular by Guy Ritchie, with the addition of a sympathetic main character battling her way to justice and independence.

Australian viewers can nab their tickets to Pixie from the link below, where you can find session times for a cinema near you. Expect terrific regional accents, Baldwin chewing some Catholic scenery and some great pulpy action scenes.
