Check out Roma on the big screen ahead of its release on Netflix

New films from Alfonso Cuarón are always an event. The Oscar-winning Mexican filmmaker has pumped out an impressive body of work, directing instant classics such as Children of Men, Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

His latest film, Roma, is also one of his most acclaimed. At the time of publishing it is sitting on a damn fine 99% Rotten Tomatoes approval rating.

The Globe and Mail called it “a majestic feat of filmmaking.” Rogerebert.com said it was “a masterful achievement.” The Arts Desk described it as “profoundly cinematic.” Awards Daily pegged it as “a masterpiece.” And on and on we go.

In other words: the critics like Roma. A lot.

The film is also a Netflix original, which means opportunities to see it on the big screen are limited.

Roma will have a very short theatrical season before arriving on Netflix on December 1.

The good news is that you can catch it in cinemas well ahead of its Netflix release by attending the Opening Night of the Cine Latino Film Festival.
