Review: Fast and Furious 6
A Sure Enough No Brainer but Fun NonethelessFast and Furious 6 is undeniably the most ludicrous, shallowest and downright laughable movie of the year. However, such judgements provide the charm, or perhaps likeability is a more suitable term.
Fast and Furious is everything it's supposed to be - loud, dumb and fun. Every character fits its stock none more so than the Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Vin Diesel. The film makes no attempt to challenge the thinking of its audience, rather unintentionally amusing the masses. While there is a proviso watching such movies of this ilk i.e. 'leave your brain at the door' which has become a safeguard for otherwise 'good' terrible movies, there are laugh out loud moments which spring such reactions "Oh no, this is almost too good". Yes there are cringe worthy moments of dialogue but it works, if not so convincingly.
The stunts are ridiculous and the juxtaposition of scantily clad women and customised vehicles is typical genre convention.
Fast and Furious 6 is largely forgettable but its a laugh. However such positive sentiments does not change the fact that its a terrible movie.
