Ferruccio Castronuovo was the only authorised eye, between 1976 and 1986, to film the brilliant Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini (1920-1993) in his personal and creative intimacy, to capture the gears of his great circus, his fantastic lies and his crazy inventions.

Arrested for murder, a petty thief is later sent to fight in the army in this comedic Oscar-nominated war drama. Filmmaker Lina Wertmüller made history by becoming the first woman to be nominated for Best Director at the Academy Awards.
