How to watch all of season six of Vikings in Australia

All good things must come to an end. Even Vikings, the US History Channel’s beloved historical action-drama series. If you don’t think that’s possible, take it directly from the characters in the new season’s trailer, who helpfully announce “perhaps the golden age of the vikings is done.”

If you’re desperate to see how the saga wraps up, you’ll want to keep your eyes trained closely on SBS On Demand, where the second installment of the show’s sixth and final season of will air from January 6. This season was divided into two batches consisting of 10 episodes each.

When Vikings first kicked off in 2013, it was fairly transparent in its attempts to rival HBO’s record-breakingly popular series Game Of Thrones, what with its mixture of blockbuster fantasy battles and characters trying to navigate a grim historical world.

But over the last six seasons, Vikings has really come into its own. Many history buffs and action bros alike will be sad to see it end.

The final 10 episodes of Vikings will be available exclusively on SBS On Demand for Australian viewers. New episodes of this final season premiere weekly starting January 6, when a double episode premiere will air at 8:30pm on both SBS itself and SBS On Demand for online viewers.

Vikings’ final season is in fact one of 15 new drama series to arrive on SBS On Demand in the next month, so maybe once you’ve shed some tears over your final episodes with Ubbe and Bjorn you can get started on something new.
