First look at Eternals, Marvel’s epic ensemble of immortal alien heroes

Bringing name-brand glam to the galactic red carpet of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’ve finally got a sweeping teaser trailer and a release date for Eternals.

It’s the second film in Phase Four of Marvel Studio’s cinematic domination, and it’s made just that bit extra exciting by the writing and direction of Chloé Zhao. The writer and director of Nomadland recently scooped Oscars for Best Picture and Best Director, bringing the prestige to this epic ensemble story.

For 7,000 years, the Eternals have lived quietly amongst we Earthlings, hiding their true abilities as a race of immortal and all-powerful aliens. Now called upon to protect their chosen home from the villainous Deviants, an all-star cast unites to portray the unlikely family of glam space heroes.

The cast includes (deep breath) Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Gil Birmingham, Harish Patel, Kit Harington and Salma Hayek (whew).

You can get to meet them and uncover their unique cosmic abilities on October 28, when Eternals arrives in cinemas around Australia. Sort of bummed that we couldn’t get Frances McDormand as like ‘VanWoman’ or ‘Grey Nomad’ or something, but oh well.
