Poster for Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead

No-holds-barred, independent, Aussie, post-apocalyptic zombie film. The poster's pull-quote is "Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead". This is the feature debut from the Roache-Turner brothers. More

"When falling stars bring a mysterious plague onto the land, transforming all but a select few into ravenous, bloodthirsty monsters, gruff-but-kind family man Barry is left with no family but his sister Brooke stranded hours away, with hundreds of the ravenous beasts between them.

"But with nothing left to live for except his sister, Barry’s not going to let anything stand in his way; not the undead and certainly not the military forces who may be even more dangerous than the creatures they’re supposedly protecting people from." (Fantastic Fest)

Blah blah blah it’s another zombie film, who cares? Well, in the case of Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, you should, for Australian brothers Kiah and Tristan Roache-Turner have delivered a genuinely fresh and exciting and new zombie film. Have no fear, the undead aren’t fresh, they’re still as shuffling and moaning as ever, but they do have a new quality that gives them a smoking new style.

Violent, fast-paced, frequently silly, occasionally hilarious and unapologetically Aussie, Wyrmwood is a cult film that hits far more than it misses.
