Energetic, imaginative, and hilarious. Everything in The Lego Movie is awesome. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller have created one of the smartest animated films since Toy Story 3. Emmett, voiced by Chris Pratt, is just an ordinary, generic Lego construction worker. But one day, Emmett is told that he is the most important Lego in the universe and is destined to lead the Lego master builders, an alliance of powerful Legos and save the world. From there, Emmett goes on a crazy adventure with Lucy, the girl Emmett falls in love immediately, the wizard Vitruvius, Unikitty and Batman, involving cowboys, robots, and a bipolar cop. The Lego Movie has an amazing voice acting cast featuring Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Charlie Day, Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Dave Franco and Will Ferrell. I was impressive by how detailed the animation is. It's hard to tell that this movie was computer generated and not stop-motion. The 3D is top-notch and well worth the extra money. Stuffed with wit, humour and pop culture references. The Lego Movie is smart, funny and surprisingly profound. I feel like playing with Lego again.
