Review: Sleeping with Other People

There were a few laughs (often due to the exploitation of single-scene characters). This is a comedy about sex addicts that never has their addictions really risk anything much in their lives at all. Both characters are independently secure (either smart or wealthy) and so their problems are just elaborate facades. We never see what she sees in Sobvacheck. It would have been better to involve the business partner and his wife and kid more - I liked them but they were just a plot mechanic: you can see during the credits their ad libbed chemistry had much more to tap into. This film is over-long for what it provides and the third act feels artificially elongated. Still, I appreciate that I could laugh a couple of times.
