Headland demonstrated little interest in playing it safe with her previous film... But here she reins in that impulse almost too much...

Headland refuses to milk easy laughs by winking at genre clichés, but her decision to play things straight helps clarify a truth at the heart of movies like this.

Why Lainey would be enamored by such a dud remains a mystery...

Doesn't have the jokes or the emotionally textured characters that can fill in that conceit.

Though the leads lend charm and comic timing to the unpersuasive material, it would take a ground-up rewrite to make the fate of their characters matter.

A brittle, bawdy, frequently funny romcom that might be too smart for its own good.

A smart, flawed movie about smart, flawed people.

!st half great, 2nd half just silly

Very witty amusing script and you get caught up in the characters in the first half... then it becomes unrealistic and silly...... Not sure I would recommend it. But do like the lead actors.

Adam Scott was fun in this

The movie was ok. Some funny moments but generally a bit too talky, like a Woody Allen movie, for my taste. Adam Scott was fun as the boring doctor especially in his sex scene.

Well cast rom-com movie with a few laugh out load moments

Great casting, some very funny bits and generally a thought provoking movie. Enjoyable film with some slow bits, but kept this bloke engaged throughout.

Takes a U-turn back to generic territory

There were a few laughs (often due to the exploitation of single-scene characters). This is a comedy about sex addicts that never has their addictions really risk anything much in their lives at all. Both characters are independently secure (either smart or wealthy) and so their problems are just elaborate facades. We never see what she sees in Sobvacheck....

Sweet and sexy comedy

Enjoyable romantic comedy answering the question, "can men and women just be friends"... that answer being no, apparently. :o) Even though you know the ultimate destination for the characters in this film, it was worth the ride. Funny movie with some great laugh out loud moments. #DirtyDJ anyone?

I snarfed my drink

I laughed at this movie. It was filthy, and fun, funny and sweet. The two main characters are broken but through their friendship, they learn what love is all about. Sudeikis and Brie have great chemistry, and Andrea Savage and Jason Mantzoukas are hilarious and Natasha Lyon's cameo is bitingly funny.
