Time Out
Only one gag (involving a town’s rival barbers) sticks; the rest is just whistlin’ Dixie.
Full reviewA rowdy ensemble cast star in three twisted hillbilly tales, all connected by items from a small-town pawn shop. Naked zombie girls, skinhead meth addicts, Elvis and torture with fish hooks all feature. Stars Paul Walker in the last film released before his death, as well as Elijah Wood, Matt Dillon and Brendan Fraser.
Raw Dog (Walker) is a white supremacist meth addict preparing to rob a local dealer with his equally dim partner. They pawn their shotgun to pay for gas before carrying out the robbery. Newly married Richard (Dillon) is on a violent rampage to find whoever pawned his missing ex-wife's stolen wedding ring, resulting in some particularly gruesome torture for the local weirdo (Wood). And it seems Elvis (Fraser) is alive and well and hocking his gold medallions in a last ditch effort to clean up for the county fair.

Full reviewA hillbilly grindhouse yawp of a movie that belches in your face and leaves a sour stink.
Full reviewThe film doesn’t feel like a fresh riff on familiar tropes so much as a bad cover of Pulp Fiction.
Full reviewThe sort of instantly disposable B-movie effort that Quentin Tarantino would have chucked in the wastebasket after a first draft.
