Wickedly fun
This 70-year-old British satire holds up remarkably well, aside from the inherent, ingrained sexism of the times. Alec Guinness is superb, playing all eight members of the ill-fated D’Ascoyne family, and Joan Greenwood wickedly fun, in director Robert Hamer’s expertly shot, comedy classic.
