Fair Game serves up impeccable politics with a bit too much righteous outrage and not quite enough solid drama.

Things worked out between Joe and Valerie, and for their real-life models, who are now the subjects of a terrifically entertaining movie. But that does not mean that justice was done, or that truth prevailed.

What's effective is how matter-of-fact Fair Game is. This isn't a lathering, angry attack picture.

Liman outfits the film with spy-thriller packaging worthy of his "The Bourne Identity," so the film probably will attract above-average coin and possibly awards attention.

In the filmography of liberal-skewing, Bush-era true stories, this is a measured, persuasive item. It's questionable whether there's an appetite for hanging out more of the last decade's dirty laundry to dry in the multiplexes or 'For Your Consideration' awards bids, though.

Fair Game tells ,through the Valerie Plame tale, how the Bush administration with the help of the media sleepwalk America into the sad joke that was the Iraq "war" (we really should call it invasion). It confirms how rotten politics can be. Sean Penn is as usual brilliant, and so is Naomi Watts. Valerie Plame herself praised the film, and that...

I liked it, i found it entertaining to watch that american government officials screw their own ppl over. Sean Penn and Noami Watts played their parts well.

Shot brilliantly, some of the most fantastic hand held shooting ive seen. Focus puller is a legend. If you are into the 911 political stuff or even conspiracy theories then this may be the film of the summer for you. Story was decent. Acting was spot on. Can someone please figure out if that's a secret message in the credits?

Acting very good, direction and pacing good, script OK, concept not really all that interesting perhaps to most in a New Zealand audience. Perhaps top true to the actual story, more poetic licence may have been required(If the synopsis appeals you won't be disappointed)
