The game is afoot again! Australian trailer and release date for Enola Holmes 2

Enola Holmes is back, baby! The ridiculously charming, funny and fun Netflix Original starring Stranger Things breakout Millie Bobby Brown won a legion of fans back in 2020, so a sequel was all but inevitable. Well, now the game is finally afoot, and Enola Holmes 2 is hitting Netflix on November 4.

Based on the YA series The Enola Holmes Mysteries by Nancy Springer, the films follow the exploits of the titular Enola (Brown), younger sister to the legendary Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill, supplementing his regular Netflix gig on The Witcher). Enola hied off to London in search of their missing mother (Helena Bonham Carter) and wound up uncovering a labyrinthine political plot of the type both her older brothers tackle on the reg (Mycroft Holmes, canonically the smartest of the lot, is played by Sam Claflin).

But that was then—what do we know about Enola Holmes 2? Not much, as plot details are being kept under wraps, but it seems Enola is trying to set up her own detective agency and her first case is looking into the disappearance of a match factory girl.

A lot of familiar faces from the first film are back. In addition to the above, expect to see Adeel Akhtar as Lestrade, Susan Wokoma as Edith, and Louis Partridge as Enola’s possible paramour, Tewkesbury. Joining us for the first time are the always welcome David Thewlis and Dune’s Sharon Duncan-Brewster. Original director Harry Bradbeer is once again calling the shots, working from a script by Jack Thorne, who penned the first film.

It’s a big old Holmes family reunion! Who else is in the mix is anyone’s guess, but it’s a bit odd we haven’t seen a Watson or a Moriarty yet. Could these classic Holmes characters debut here? Guess we have to wait until November to find out.
