Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind will have its Australian premiere on Foxtel

The critically acclaimed documentary Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind examines the life and career of the beloved American comedian, who tragically took his own life in 2014 after a long battle with Lewy body disease. The loss that Williams’ death created is still felt by many people, fans and friends alike, all over the world.

Come Inside My Mind attempts the difficult task of coming to terms with what was going on in Williams’ head throughout his excellent career.

Following its premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and a subsequent broadcast on the US cable channel HBO, the feature-length film will have its Australian premiere on Foxtel on August 28 at 9:30pm. It will screen on the ‘Showcase’ channel and be available to stream.

The film, which takes its name from one of Williams’ early stand-up routines, was directed by Emmy Award-winner Marina Zenovich.

It includes a star-studded line-up of interviewees such as Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber and Robin’s son, Zak Williams. The footage includes previously unseen glimpses into the comedian’s creative process, including home movies and onstage clips.

Come Inside My Mind has experienced a positive response from critics. Los Angeles Times critic Robert Lloyd called it “an affectionate, sympathetic work” while Sophie Gilbert from The Atlantic said it was “a thoughtful and wistful portrait of an elusive subject.”
