Flicks film critic and obsessive podcaster Blake Howard has pulled off a dream conclusion to his long-running podcast One Heat Minute, by securing the great director Michael Mann as his final guest.
In July last year, Blake wrote a piece for Flicks reflecting on how his obsession with Mann’s 1995 action/drama Heat led him to create a podcast devoted to exploring every minute of it in fastidious detail.
Finished the final #OneHeatMinute ep with @MichaelMann for the second time, & I still can’t believe what @BlakeisBatman has accomplished–hundreds of hours of entertaining & critical discussion about HEAT, capped off with a face-to-face with Mann himself.https://t.co/BjxpG1wOdz

After more than 170 episodes and 130 hours, One Heat Minute comes to a close – with a long interview between Blake and the man(n) himself.
Head over to the One Heat Minute website for access to all the episodes, incluing the Michael Mann ep.
Other episodes have featured guests including filmmakers such as Abe Forsythe and Joe Lynch, the legendary cinematographer Dante Spinotti and critics such as Manohla Dargis, Bilge Ebiri, Matt Zoller Seitz and Flicks’ own Luke Buckmaster.
