Where to watch Queen documentary Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts in Australia

There has been a wealth of films and shows depicting Queen Elizabeth II. Heck, we’ve seen more than one Oscar-winning actor take on the role, from Helen Mirren’s immortal performance in 2006’s The Queen to Olivia Colman’s reign in Netflix series The Crown.

But now we get to see the real Queen with 2022 biopic Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts, currently available to rent and buy on demand. Billed as “a celebration… a cinematic mystery-tour up and down the decades,” this archive-based documentary from Notting Hill director Roger Michell explores the multidimensional life of the longest-serving female head of state in history.

The film is “couched in fondness and gentle irreverence,” writes Screen Daily, “[offering] whimsical reflections on a lifetime of duty and service.” Variety agrees: “A level-headed adoration that is neither fussy nor old-fashioned, since it’s cut with an acerbic awareness of the absurdity of royalty in the contemporary age.”

If you’re looking to know a bit more about Her Majesty, you can do so from the comfort of your own home with Elizabeth: A Portrait in Parts.
