The heartwarming true story Dream Horse is now playing in cinemas

Giddy up into cinemas this month for Dream Horse, the latest movie to show off Toni Collette’s chameleonic talent for accents.

This time, she’s a hopeful Welsh supermarket worker, who rallies the downtrodden neighbours of her small town in service of a highly unlikely racetrack dream. Dream Horse is currently screening in cinemas, and you can check out its sweet trailer just below.

Dream Alliance is the real (and very apt) name of the horse bred, funded by Jan Vokes—Collette’s inspiring character in the film. By encouraging her out-of-work/overworked small town friends to chip in for the money needed to train Dream Alliance into a champion, Vokes was ultimately given the ultimate reward when her racehorse made it to the Welsh National.

This heartwarming story has been brought to the screen as a documentary before, and published as a book written by Vokes herself.  But with a great international cast, Dream Horse is set to bring some extra dramatic energy to the sweet true events. Damian Lewis stars as one of Collette’s fellow townsfolk, who finds new purpose and hope in horsing around.

Dream Horse is currently screening in cinemas around Australia, something funny and warming for winter that the whole family can enjoy.
