Event Cinemas will screen classic anime films across the country through its ‘Outta The Box’ initiative
Event Cinemas has announced the titles for its third Outta the Box program, which screens classic Japanese anime films in cinemas across the country. The retrospective program is designed for lovers of anime.
The titles for the program include Akira, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky. Kicking off on June 13, the monthly program will screen across nine sites in New South Wales, Western Australia, South Australia, Queensland and the NT.
The first screening will be of Akira, taking place on Wednesday June 13. The legendary 1988 film is a cult classic, and one of the most famous animes of all time.
The remaining three films on the program (Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky) were all directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the world’s most revered anime filmmaker.
