Yours, Mine & Ours

Yours, Mine & Ours

Yours, Mine & Ours
Re-make of the unheard of 1968 version, follows childhood sweethearts (Quaid and Russo) who meet again and fall in love again. They marry and combine there massive clans - he has 8 kids, she has 10. Dad is orderly and likes to keep a tight ship, but crazy old mum is a bit of a hippy and likes a bit of mess. Hijinks and squabbles and making up and all that follow.

Slammed by the critics.

In a family with 18 kids, where does all the food come from, and who pays for it? What happens if one kid has something like asthma or ADD, or needs braces? How will the parents even know when they get to spend roughly 20 seconds with each child on any given day?

The inane new movie 'Yours, Mine and Ours' does not answer these or any other questions. The kids on display here are all straight from central casting: perfect, polished and beautiful. The older teens could be cover girls or boy band stars, and not a spot of acne appears anywhere...

No matter; we never get a sense of a real relationship between Frank and Helen. Their marriage seems like an extended Meet Cute. Gosnell and his writers, Ron Burch and David Kidd, crack the whip while making the characters jump through the obligatory hoops of the plot.
