American Gods doesn't seem interested in the deeper questions it once asked.

The fever belatedly breaks and everyone involved takes deep breath. Oh miracle of miracles, American Gods may finally be watchable.

No amount of good acting, lavish costumes, and beautiful visuals can make up for the lack of interest the show seems to have in really investigating the heart of this American story.

The one thing everyone can agree on is the road trip between Odin and Shadow is the heart of the show. As long as that part works, the show has a central axis on which to turn.
