Adam Sandler is Happy Gilmore, a failed hockey player-turned-golfer with anger management issues, in this 1996 comedy which shot the former SNL comedian to fame. Attempting to save his granny's house with PGA prize money, his unconventional approach (including a running swing to drive the ball) has him shoot up the rankings and courting the ire of rival, Shooter McGavin (Christopher McDonald).
