Alicia is a wife and mother who boldly assumes full responsibility for her family and re-enters the workforce after her husband's very public sex and political corruption scandal lands him in jail.

Pushing aside the betrayal and crushing public humiliation caused by her husband, Peter, Alicia Florrick starts over by pursuing her original career as a defense attorney. As a junior associate at a prestigious Chicago law firm, she joins her longtime friend, former law school classmate and firm partner Will Gardner, who is interested in rekindling their former relationship.

As Season three begins, Alicia is back with a new found confidence and a fresh start. Will and Alicia are working on a tough case the puts them both in unknown territory. Peter searches for a law firm to represent the county's civil needs but he may not end up going with Lockhart/Gardner, leaving Diane questioning Alicia's true loyalty.

Kalinda's husband, a violent, hot-headed business owner, attempts to weasel his way back into her life by hiring Lockhart Gardner. Alicia and Cary reevaluate their futures at the firm.

Season 5 begins with Alicia and Cary secretly planning their exit from Lockhart Gardner in order to start their own firm. But their plans are pushed into overdrive when Will learns about them. Meanwhile, Diane's Supreme Court candidacy puts her at odds with her colleagues.

Season 6 kicks off with Alicia refusing to run for State's Attorney. Diane considers partnering at Florrick Agos amidst an internal crisis. Cary is arrested and charged with trafficking heroin.

Eli begins working for Alicia in an attempt to both restore her image and undermine Ruth's involvement in Peter's campaign.
