The critically acclaimed Australian western Sweet Country is now on DVD/VOD

Director Warwick Thornton’s revered Australian western Sweet Country is now available on DVD/Blu-Ray and online. Its home release follows a highly successful theatrical season, which involved an extensive national tour with numerous Q&A sessions.

Set in the outback of the Northern Territory in 1929, the film tells the story of an Aboriginal stockman (newcomer Hamilton Morris) who kills a white station owner (Ewen Leslie) in self-defence, then flees town.

Sweet Country, which co-stars Bryan Brown, Sam Neill and Thomas M. Wright, is currently sitting on an outstanding 95% Rotten Tomatoes approval rating.

Flicks critic Blake Howard awarded the film five stars, describing it as “exquisite” and “mesmerizing.” Its many other five star reviews include a gushing write-up from The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw, who described it as a “brutal Australian western” that “soars with Biblical starkness.”

If you missed it at the cinema, now’s your chance to see it at home.
