The chilling true crime story Dr Death is now streaming on Stan

We’ve seen plenty of TV tales about good doctors: dashing practitioners who save lives while juggling their own dramatic personal lives. Dr Death is not one of those stories.

A fictionalised account of Wondery’s hit true crime podcast of the same name, Dr Death tells the horrifying truth about Dr Christopher Duntsch, a neurosurgeon who butchered patient after patient seemingly without consequence. The entire first season of hospital horror is available right now on Stan.

Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater have a fun good-cop-bad-cop dynamic as two senior doctors hot on Dr Duntsch’s bloody trail, bickering and trying to convince Texas medical boards that serious medical malpractice is taking place right under their noses.

Joshua Jackson from Little Fires Everywhere stars as the antagonistic centre of the story, seen in the trailer below chipping away at one poor patient’s spine. Yeowch.

The first season of Dr Death is now available to stream exclusively on Stan, with all eight episodes currently ready to watch.

Whether you’ve listened to the podcast’s gruesome investigation or not, Dr Death adds an additional level of melodrama to an already-dramatic tale, giving us insight to Duntsch’s dangerous ego and education.

Stan subscribers can dive right into Dr Death‘s first season, a medical malpractice saga ripped from the headlines that should send shivers down your spine.
