The Breaker Upperers stars/creators begin national tour

Beloved New Zealand comedians Jackie van Beek and Madeleine Sami – who wrote, directed and starred in the crowd-pleasing comedy The Breaker Upperers – have just launched a national tour of Australia.

The pair will be hopscotching across the country in a jam-packed week, which will surely do wonders for their frequent flyer points.

Beginning in Western Australia, they then fly to Queensland, New South Wales and finally Victoria, participating in a range of Q&A screenings at almost a dozen cinemas across the country.

The Breaker Upperers is a comedy about two cynical women who set up an agency with an unconventional business model: they get paid to break couples up. The film was executive produced by some guy called Taika Waititi.

After premiering at SXSW in March, the film (which opens nationally July 26) became a huge hit in New Zealand. It was also well received in Australia when it opened this year’s Sydney Film Festival.

Below are the times and dates for all the Australian Q&A sessions attended by Van Beek and Sami, with links to where to buy tickets.
