SBS World Movies will play Studio Ghibli films non-stop every weekend in July

Studio Ghibli films are famously difficult to locate on any streaming or online service.

So the announcement that an Australian television network will be playing almost their entire catalogue, every weekend for a month, is pretty big news for fans of the world-renown Japanese animation studio.

This is what’s going down in July on SBS Movies, the new free-to-air TV channel that launches on July 1.

SBS Movies will screen most of Studio Ghibli’s catalogue, every weekend in July, from 6am to 7:30pm each Saturday and Sunday.

The full list of titles on rotation will be:

The Cat Returns
Kiki’s Delivery Service
Laputa: Castle in the Sky
Ponyo
The Secret World of Arrietty
The Boy and the Beast
The Castle of Cagliostro
From Up on Poppy Hill
Howl’s Moving Castle
Mary and the Witch’s Flower
Spirited Away
Summer Wars
Tales From Earthsea
The Wind Rises
When Marnie Was There
The Red Turtle
