How to watch this year’s Oscars ceremony in Australia

It’s almost that time of the year again, when Hollywood’s biggest names glam up and congregate for their night of nights. This year’s Academy Awards ceremony will take place in front of a tragic background, with the Californian wildfires wreaking a horrible toll on Los Angeles.
But the 97th Oscars will nevertheless proceed, being held at the Dolby® Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on (US time) Sunday March 2, 2025. This year’s host will be Conan O’Brien.
In Australia, the ceremony will be televised on Channnel 7 and its online platform 7plus from 11.00am AEDT on Monday March 3, 2025. Particularly keen viewers can tune in for earlier, pre-cerermony coverage, including The Oscars Red Carpet Show from 10:30am AEDT.
The network will milk its coverage for everything it’s worth, having promised to begin yaking about it from 5:30am on its Sunrise program. The awards will also be available to rewatch later via 7plus.
The films nominated for Best Picture this year are:
Emilia Pérez
