Reviews & comments
Still hope for Vampires in a sequel perhaps?
At can be argued what came first twilight or vampire academy in terms of novels. Sadly Vampire academy has lost the battle for first screen adaptation by a long shot. It was always going to be hard to separate itself from previous vampire movies. There is afterall so much you can do with a vampire before its not a vampire... I will always be biased I love...

Variety
pressNot only plays like the crassest possible mashup of Harry Potter and Twilight, but seems designed to make those franchises look like eternal monuments of world culture by comparison.

The New York Times
pressWhat is surprising is that while the patchwork whole creaks terribly in places, the parts also show signs of life.

The Dissolve
pressFans of the books might enjoy seeing their world brought to life, but most everyone else will likely leave feeling as if they’ve just completed a seminar on vampire lore, and they’re likely to fail any pop quiz that follows.
