Tombstone
Kurt Russell is legendary lawman Wyatt Earp, joined by Sam Elliott and Bill Paxton as brothers Virgil and Morgan Earp, in this 1993 Western.
Known for his exceptional ability to take down outlaws, Wyatt prepares to settle down for a humble retirement in Tombstone, Arizona. Unfortunately, low-down rotten scoundrels disrupt those plans by terrorising the town. With the help of his brothers and notorious pal Doc Holliday (Val Kilmer), the weary gunfighter dons the badge one last time to deliver justice.

Reviews & comments

Entertainment Weekly
pressA preposterously inflated 135 minutes long, Tombstone plays like a three-hour rough cut that’s been trimmed down to a slightly shorter rough cut.

Empire Magazine
pressThis flat, almost comatose Disney effort should be sent back to the kitchen on the grounds of being undercooked and bereft of flavour.

The Washington Post
pressHighly stylized fashion-wise but awkwardly unfocused in its plotlines, it aims for the western iconography of Sam Peckinpah and Sergio Leone but never gets past its own directorial hurdles.

Time Out
pressThere's a misguided romantic subplot and the ending rather sprawls, but mostly this is rootin', tootin' entertainment with lots of authentic facial hair. Read full

Variety
pressTombstone is a tough-talking but soft-hearted tale that is entertaining in a sprawling, old-fashioned manner.

A.V. Club
pressTombstone remains a shamelessly entertaining movie, filled with lively turns from virtually every appropriate actor not working on the Costner version.
