The Jungle Book (1967)
Walt Disney's animated musical adventure inspired by the writings of Rudyard Kipling (but without the source material's darker themes). Mowgli is a young orphan, found in a basket in the Indian jungle and raised by wolves. When a ruthless Bengal tiger closes in, he is sent away to the "human village" for his own safety. Along the way, he meets friends and foes including mad King Louie of the Apes, the hypnotic snake Kaa and the super-relaxed bear Baloo. Features the Oscar-nominated song The Bear Necessities. The Jungle Book was the last Disney film to be produced by Walt Disney himself, who passed away during production.
