The Getaway (1994)

In this crime thriller from Roger Donaldson, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger play Doc and Carol McCoy, a couple who must run for their lives when a heist goes sideways.

When Doc (Baldwin) ends up in a Mexican prison, Carol (Basinger) makes a deal with mob boss Jack Benyon (James Woods, Videodrome), promising Doc will work for him if Benyon can get him out. Once freed, Doc is tasked by Benyon with robbing a dog track, but the plan goes amok, and the McCoys escape with the cash. With a bitter thief (Michael Madsen, Reservoir Dogs) and Benyon's hired help on their trail, Doc and Carol must fight to survive.

This is the second film adaptation of Jim Thompson's novel The Getaway; the first was a 1972 version, directed by Sam Peckinpah (The Wild Bunch) and starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw.
