Review: The Artist

A lovely piece of classic cinema

'The Artist' is such a joy to watch. It's lovely to have a film made incredibly well that harks back to the old days of "feel-good" movies. For once, we have an Academy Award winning film in which there is no blood & guts, no superhero, no pointless violence, no horror. What you do get is a film that is a wonderful homage to the age of the silent movie - a film that is relatively pure, innocent and heart-warming. I also agree with other reviewers - the dog in this movie steals the show!
