Revisionist Western follows two mismatched survivors of a Cheyenne massacre as they try to make their way to safety across hostile 19th century Colorado. Stars Candice Bergen, Peter Strauss and Donald Pleasance.
Cresta (Bergen) and U.S. Private Honus (Strauss) have contrasting views - she sees the genocide of First Nations people for what it is, while he is devoted to the concepts of duty and country. Setting aside their differences to survive, they strive to reach the safety of an army camp, out of reach of both Kiowa horsemen and a white trader (Pleasance) who wish them harm. News of an impending massacre of a peaceful Cheyenne village by U.S. forces spurs the pair to act.
