Monte Carlo

Romantic comedy with Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place), Katie Cassidy (Gossip Girl) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl) as three friends who use their life savings for a dream trip to Paris.

When they decide to take a break from their borefest tour ("the worst tour in all of Paris") and sneak into the lobby of a five-star hotel, one of them is mistaken for a British heiress. Before they can reveal their true identities the girls are wrapped up in a whirlwind of paparazzi, couture gowns, storybook romances, and living a glamorous life in Monte Carlo...

Reviews & comments

Extremely primitive!

Predictable and boring, bad acting underlined by a terrifying stupid script!

1.0

I took my 2 nieces to watch this (12 & !0).

Their words... We love Selena in this movie its like Cinderalla in cowboy boots. "Go figure"? (that was me). I thought it was ok, definetly a movie for the preteen & Teen girls to see.

Monte Carlo is a wish-fulfillment fantasy. But the secrets and lies are hardly enchanting and send a questionable message to young audiences.

It’s dependable entertainment for young girls.

Cheery, corny and perhaps calculatingly unoriginal, this is packaged entertainment so familiar it feels like a remake and so wholesome you could swear Sandra Dee starred in the 1959 original.

The ingredients should have been there for a diverting bit of light escapism, but Monte Carlo gets it all wrong.

This is the kind of movie that can briefly hold the attention of a cat.

Yet another banquet of materialist fantasies for aspiring American princesses cloaked in reminders to obey your conscience and not to forget your true self.

It's all very silly and contrived, but it's also airy and agreeably laid-back, not unlike a decent vacation.

The film's lessons on friendship and growing up are effective.

Monte Carlo finally resolves itself in a farcical climax that at least shows a little energy, but it isn’t enough to overcome the discomfiting tensions and indifferent formula filmmaking that plagues nearly every scene.
