Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates

Zac Efron (Bad Neighbours) and Adam Devine (Pitch Perfect) lead this comedy as bachelor brothers whose hard-partying lifestyle has gotten them in too much trouble. In order to please their parents at their sister's upcoming wedding, they need to find dates who are polite and easygoing. Instead, they find Alice (Anna Kendrick, Pitch Perfect) and Tatiana (Aubrey Plaza, Dirty Grandpa) - female doppelgangers of their douchey selves.

Unfunny comedies are always a drag and much more difficult to endure than, say, unscary horrors. This isn't just an unfunny comedy; it's one with a derivative, uninteresting storyline, told through exclusively loathsome characters and with zero heart. It's the most unpleasant time I've had in a cinema in a long time.

Invitation to Laugh

It was never going to be high brow cinema was it. But Mike and Dave deliver what the trailer promised: laughs and a light night out at the movies. Good end of week kinda movie.

Enjoyable, exactly what I was expecting.

Went along to the Flicks preview [Thanks Ed'] From the trailer I knew what to expect and luckily it was just what I was after. While it is nothing new story-wise and reminiscent of a lot of wedding based comedies, a cast of familiar faces from a few of my favourite TV shows make for a very entertaining film with some great laughs and some loud...

Really Funny

This movie was much funnier that I thought it would be. If you are looking for a good laugh, go see this. Adam DeVine is fantastic

Zac Efron and Aubrey Plaza lead a game cast in a gently nutty comedy that has a bit of cleverness to go with the raunch.

Two idiots need dates; they get them.

There's a craftiness in the script that isn't always present in these performance-based, R-rated comedies.

Szymanski, on his debut feature, desperately tries to keep a few laughs coming while navigating toward a resolution without getting too pat or sappy. A thankless task it was.

Efron and Devine start out very strong as an anything-for-laughs pairing, but like the movie itself, their connections grows progressively weaker throughout.

Your typical screwball comedy.
