Ten years ago, in a galaxy not so far away, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace was being prepared for release. Geeks worldwide foamed at the mouth with anticipation. In Fanboys, one such teen has terminal cancer and is desperate to see the sci-fi prequel before he dies. His buddies decide they will drive across the US to steal an early copy of the picture. The group encounter celebrities, gorgeous women and a Star Trek convention on their way to George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch.
In the real-world, Lucas endorced Fanboys personally by loaning the low-budget picture his official Star Wars sound-effects. The film promises to tug heartstrings as effectively as it wields a plastic lightsaber.
