Delicacy

French romantic comedy starring Audrey Tautou (Amelie) as a happy and successful Parisian business woman who suddenly finds herself widowed after a three-year marriage to her soul mate. Nathalie immerses herself in her work to cope with the loss, and only begins to rekindle her zest for life when she discovers an unlikely kind of romance with her seemingly unexceptional, awkward office subordinate Markus (Francois Damiens, Heartbreaker). Stunned by her attention, Markus can't believe his luck and they begin a clumsy relationship, one that's opposed by both Nathalie's friends and colleagues.

Really should have been called "A week in the life of a self obsessed yuppie". The two leads were so full of them selves they had to be extra careful around sharp objects. Quite amazing how very little happened in 109 minutes ie boyfriend died....smooched someone at work.....she sulked....he sulked....happy couple. Possibly some kind of commentary on how...

A cute watch.

An enjoyable watch, but nothing amazing. I felt a bit flat after watching it.

You might think that spousal bereavement and whimsical romantic comedy would make uneasy bedfellows, and you'd be somewhat right, as the debut from French duo Stéphane and David Foenkinos doesn't quite reconcile the divide between premise and tone.

It's a rebound-romance movie that's simplistic but sweet, an uncomplicated cinematic bonbon. It'll only take a few quick bites, however, before you'll be ready to move on to something meatier.

It's a lightweight romance that occasionally shows a sense of humor but seems afraid to turn it loose.

'Delicacy' is a sweetheart of a love story, and cornball from stem to stern.

The two stars appear to be as bewildered by the turn of events as we are.

The storytelling is a little muddled but Tautou brings all her elfine charm to bear. The real revelation, though, is François Damiens, who steals the show as her unlikely love interest.

The movie is caught between the poignancy of the everyday and the exaggerations of fiction.
