Three Mars-bound astronauts (Brolin, Waterston and Simpson) find themselves whisked away to a deserted military base moments before take-off, where they become embroiled in a game of public deception. Meanwhile, journalist Robert Caulfield (Gould) must uncover the truth before it ends his career - or possibly his life.
