Get wet and wild with the trailer and release date for Avatar 2: The Way of Water
James Cameron looks to be right in his element with the super-aquatic sequel to 2009’s globe-conquering hit.

Since September 2017, James Cameron has been filming two sequels to 2009's CG mega blockbuster, Avatar. This first sequel has been tentatively titled The Way of the Water. Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver all return, joined by Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Michelle Yeoh and Vin Diesel.
Plot details are thin, but the story will be set several years after the original film and the action will be centered on the Metkayina, free-diving clan who inhabit a planet dominated by seas and volanoes.
Plans are also underway on two more sequels, but as Cameron told Vanity Fair: "Let's face it, if Avatar 2 and 3 don't make enough money, there's not going to be a 4 and 5".
