Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie
Twenty years after the premiere of Jennifer Saunders' outstanding sitcom, Edina (Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley) hit the big screen. Here, the pair are forced to hide out in the south of France after attracting media and police attention for accidentally knocking Kate Moss into the River Thames.
The ageing party girls - still trying to keep those bygone drug-and-alcohol-fueled days rolling - find themselves at the centre of a major incident at an uber-fashionable launch party. Blamed for the carnage, they become entangled in a media storm and are relentlessly pursued by the paparazzi. Fleeing penniless to the glamorous playground of the super-rich, the French Riviera, they hatch a plan to make their escape permanent and live the high life forever more.

The Telegraph
While you can’t imagine the film ever making it to Cannes under anything other than its own steam, the jaunt proves to be a surprisingly worthwhile one.

The Guardian
Basically, Joanna Lumley saves this film: she has an imperishable hauteur and comedy-charisma. She is the garden bridge that stops this film from collapsing into the Thames.

Feels like an extremely stretched out TV episode, swapping substance for celebrities.

Absolutely fabulous it is not - every now and again a little bit fabulous at a stretch.

Hollywood Reporter
This breezy blast of bawdy jokes and Bollinger product placement should lift spirits in a post-Brexit Britain.

Empire Magazine
It's scatty, scrappy and thoroughly OTT, but then that's like the characters themselves.
