Taxi Driver (February 6, Stan)

You talkin’ to me? YOU TALKIN’ TO ME? Robert DeNiro gives one of his all-time greatest performances in Martin Scorsese’s 1976 classic. It follows Travis Bickle, a cranky cab driver who gets a totally bad arse mohawk.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (February 7, Netflix)

Remember this 1997 slasher flick, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr and Ryan Phillippe? It was part of a string of hits from Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson.

Inside Llewyn Davis (February 8, Stan)

The Coen bros. have made many great films, and this 2013 drama about a week in the life of a young folk singer (Oscar Isaac) is regarded as one of their best. Flicks reviewer Aaron Yap gave it five stars, describing it as a “a beautiful, unassuming, rewarding ache of a movie.”

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (February 13, Netflix)

The fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise throws Javier Bardem into the mix as Captain Armando Salazar, an undead pirate hunter who commands a ghost ship.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (February 16, Stan)

Guy Ritchie’s take on the legend of King Arthur was ripped to pieces by the critics. They included Flicks reviewer John Fielding, who described it as ‘an unholy mess.’ But hey, if you’re game…

Irreplaceable You (February 16, Netflix)

This year Netflix will increase its output of original films. Among the first of 2018 will be this tear-jerker starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michiel Huisman, Christopher Walker and Steve Coogan.

Mute (February 23, Netflix)

Another Netflix original film. Mute is the latest from Duncan Jones, director of Moon and Source Code. It is a sci-fi thriller, with Alexander Skarsgård playing a mute searching for his girlfriend on the streets of a future Berlin.

The Social Network (February 23, Stan)

Director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin teamed up for this thrilling tale about the foundation of Facebook. Jesse Eisenberg gives a memorable performance as Mark Zuckerberg, and Andrew Garfield plays co-founder Eduardo Saverin.
