The Force Awakens is being performed live by the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra

Want to get warmed up for Star Wars: The Last Jedi by attending a special screening of The Force Awakens, with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing the score live? Of course you do.

A series of concert style events will take place at Melbourne’s newly refurbished Palais Theatre on December 7, 8, 9 and 10.

They will feature a full screening of The Force Awakens, with a live performance of Oscar-winning composer John Williams’ score, led by conductor Nicholas Buc.

Star Wars fans can enjoy/geek out on the experience in the lead up to the release of The Last Jedi, which arrives in Australian cinemas December 14.

A representative from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra recently told the Sydney Morning Herald: “We are actually the only orchestra in the world that is allowed to do it in conjunction with Episode VIII. We’ve had great support from Disney Australia to be able to secure it for the [Australian] premiere here.”

Tickets are now on sale and available through Ticketmaster.
